What’s coming to Verizon in 2012
You can bet on more Verizon 4G phones that’s for sure. We are expecting some Tegra 3 quad-core processor phones to hit mid 2012 and the minimum of every phone will be 1080p video recording and 8MP still cameras. Possibly some phones will get up to 13MP cameras that take even better pictures than the impressive 2011 smart phones can take. Expect a slew of full HD 720p display screens like the Galaxy Nexus and HTC Rezound. Hopefully most 2012 phones will have NFC chips too.
2011 was the year of the full HD 1080p video cameras, 3D displays and dual-core processors. 2012 will be filled with 720p displays and quad-core processors.
Should you wait and get a 2012 Verizon phone or buy one now?
The smart phones coming in 2012 are going to be amazingly powerful phones that will no doubt be faster than most of today’s phones. However, since most of the 2011 Verizon smart phones have full 1080p video recording, kickass still cameras, dual-core processors, 1GB of ram and beautiful displays (even 720p) most of the 2012 phones are essentially going to be updates to the current crop of smart phones.Sure the 2012 phones may have a quad-core processor and Android 4.0, but the Droid RAZR, Bionic, Rezound, iPhone 4s or Galaxy Nexus all have very fast processors that can run anything you want wonderfully and Android 4.0 will be on most devices by summer (The Galaxy Nexus will have Android 4.0 in November 2011).
The latest and greatest 2011 Verizon phones are amazing and you will be happy buying a 2011 phone now because the 2012 Verizon phones will most likely be marginally better than 2011 phones.
